We have heard reports of a utility scam going around. Northern Plains Electric members have reported that they have received a phone call saying the caller is a representative of their local electric provider and that they will be disconnect for none payment. They go on to demand payment.

Northern Plains will not call you and demand money, please hang up and call our office if you have any concerns on you the status of your electric bill, 1-800-882-2500.  If the caller is calling after regular business hours of 8:00-4:30 M-F, that is for sure a red flag.
